Man, what a long weekend. I woke up this early Saturday morning with a massive toothache. I spent all weekend sucking down Tylenol, Aleve and anything else I could think that would dull the pain.
Then, Sunday afternoon, while I was starting to contemplate getting out the Black and Decker and seeing if I could fix things myself, I got the chills and nausea.
So, the end-result is that I've got an abscessed tooth that will need a root canal once I get enough antibiotics running through my veins. The Vicodin have taken care of most all the pain. But I apparently have come down with the flu thing that's been making its way around.
But in-between taking handfuls of meds and praying to the porcelain gods, I'm in strangely high spirits. Who knows how these things work?

Hey, at least you have Vicodin. There's a silver lining to every cloud.
Sorry 'bout the root canal... and the flu... my heart goes out to ya, man. Feel better soon, k?
Thanks for that moment of schadenfreude.
We had a tech go in for a root canal and after about an hour of working on the tooth the dentist leaned back and actually said, "whoops, wrong tooth."
Get well. Eat some chicken soup and wrap a hot towel around your head.
Damn, you know how to do it right! Let us know how it went. I don't want to call because I doubt you will feel like talking much.
I had my root canal done today, so I'm feeling great--probably 85% of normal. Virtually no pain.
And the flu didn't seem to stick around more than about 2 days, so I'm good there.
Wow, that's great news. So do you recommend the root canal specialists?
Absolutely! Specialists are the way to go.
I'm still convinced when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, the best part was the anti-anxiety meds given to me before I went in. Absolutely nothing bothered me. (Coincidentally, that was 9/12/01 - I recommend it for all sorts of feelings of impending doom).
